Brushing
Brushing your hair extensions regularly ensures they remain tangle-free and healthy. It's important to use a gentle brush designed for extensions to avoid pulling or damaging the bonds. Start by detangling from the ends and work your way up to the roots. This method not only helps maintain the appearance of your extensions but also extends their lifespan, allowing you to enjoy your beautiful hair for longer. Remember to be consistent with this practice, brushing your extensions several times throughout the day, especially before styling.
How to Brush Your Extensions
To begin, use an extensions brush, a wide-tooth comb, or a soft bristle brush to gently smooth your hair. Gather your hair into a ponytail positioned just behind your ears at the nape of your neck. This technique helps to alleviate any tension from the weft track or bonds, ensuring a more comfortable wear. Always handle your hair with care to maintain its integrity and your extensions’ longevity.
Start at the ends of your extensions and work your way up. If you encounter any tangles or knots, isolate those strands and gently brush them out. Do not tug or pull them. Avoid brushing your extensions while wet; if necessary, use a wide-tooth comb. Always handle your extensions and natural hair with care while brushing. Use your fingers to smooth the roots by getting in between the weft rows or around tape-in or bonded extensions to address any matting or tangles at the root.
What about major tangles?
Over time, extensions may begin to feel slightly dry, and movement can lead to tangles and matting. On days with windy or stormy conditions, it is advisable to secure your hair in a ponytail or braid to keep it neatly in place.
To maintain the quality of your extensions, use hair care products that are both sulfate and alcohol-free, specifically formulated for detangling and frizz control. Sulfates and alcohol can strip extensions of their natural oils, compromising their overall integrity.
Shedding is a normal occurrence with extensions, similar to the shedding of natural hair. To mitigate shedding, it is recommended to brush your extensions prior to washing, as hair is weakest when wet. When styling with heat, always apply thermal protection products and refrain from using heat tools set above 160°C (320°F).

Washing
When washing your hair extensions, the products you choose play a significant role in extending their lifespan and maintaining softness. It's essential to use products free from certain harmful ingredients, including:
SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Alcohol Denat
Ethanol
SD Alcohol 40
Propanol
Isopropyl
Propyl
These ingredients can strip the natural oils from the extensions and weaken the hair strands. Since extensions are not rooted living hair, they cannot naturally regain nourishment.
Washing Frequency
Less is more when it comes to washing extensions. To prolong their longevity, limit washing to every two weeks or, at a minimum, once a week. You can wash the natural hair above where the extensions are installed without concern. Incorporating dry shampoo can also help between washes.Washing Technique
Use extension-safe shampoo and conditioner.
Apply shampoo to your natural hair and gently clean between the weft rows with your fingers.
Avoid scrubbing the wefts or the installed weft row.
Keep shampoo and conditioner away from tape-in or bonded extensions, as well as weft extensions.
For conditioner, apply it only to the mid-shaft and ends of your extensions.
To prevent damage, use cool to lukewarm water rather than hot, which can lead to dryness. Following these guidelines will help keep your extensions looking their best.
Reminder: Never brush your extensions wet as this is when the hair strands are weakest. Brush your extensions well before washing.

Styling
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Sleeping
To care for your extensions while you sleep, braid your hair and use a silk or soft scrunchie. If you prefer not to braid, tie it back in a loose low ponytail with a silk or satin scrunchie and wear a silk or satin night cap. Alternatively, you can use silk or satin pillowcases. Avoid sleeping with wet extensions to prevent breakage and matting.
